The No Ripcast: Volume 11
A couple of weeks back, David Coleman, Joe Rivers, Stephen Wragg and Juan Edgardo Rodriguez took some time out from a fairly potent dose of Olympic fever to record the podcast you now see before you. As well as the usual catch-up, we ask whether the album format in on its last legs in light of dwindling sales, and discuss the point and artistic validity of cover versions in a different style. The particular examples we used for this debate were:
- The Hackney Colliery Band - No Diggity
- Nouvelle Vague - Teenage Kicks
- The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - Le Freak
- Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit
