Track Of The Day: January
“TOTD: like Match of the day, but featuring much less football and more handpicked songs from the web's finest blogs.“
Track of the Day is a new feature from the No Ripcord Twitter feed. Essentially, in a crazed revolution of think-tanks, spit-balling and visionary innovation, we started to post a song a day – sometimes two – that we liked, in an attempt to share our favourite discoveries with you.
If you can’t get enough there’s a co-existing TOTD feature on our Facebook page – or in case you think my selections are, put politely, not very good.
These songs aren’t the biggest songs of the month; they’re not an ‘Indie top 40’ (because we figure that you’ve already heard all of those): but they are rough diamonds that have wormed their ways into our consciousness over the past thirty odd days. So here’s January’s list – I suggest you pick a few at random, listen to them, and feel free to make some comments… after all TOTD is really a benign dictatorship.

My recommendation for listening is to use Soundcloud: the upload site for independent and unsigned artists. Almost all of the above can be found on it. http://soundcloud.com/. Alternatively, you can find the tracks on our Hype Machine page.
